Re-opening A Door

Since returning from the Creative Journal Expressive Arts training retreat at the beginning of November, a fire has been lit under me! Before Sublime Pottery kicked off in 2017, I hosted regular CJEA/creativity workshops, as a certified instructor since 2008. I have really missed this. Since the founder of the program, Lucia Capacchione had recently retired, I was asked to facilitate the ‘Hands In Clay’ training class for the online CJEA students this last Tuesday. On the morning of the class, I got a call from the director to let me know that Lucia had passed away the night before and asked if we could open the small class up to the entire CJEA community to offer a space to process the shock and grief surrounding our mentor’s sudden passing, since clay is a potent medium to help process emotions. It was a POWERFUL experience, and the largest class I have ever led as a solo facilitator.

I woke up the next morning with a new idea. I want to honor Lucia’s legacy, and introduce you to another creative facet of me, by offering this as a free workshop to my Sublime Pottery community here so we can put 2022 to bed and kick off 2023 with creativity and fresh emotional awareness.

BTW, this was the activity that reignited my passion for pottery. Sublime Pottery would not exist without experiencing the profound self discovery that was born from that experience. So…
