Shaping My Future

For anyone who feels like you need artistic skills to participate in the free New Years Day “Shaping My Future” clay+meditation+journaling workshop, here is what I created during the clay activity at the creative intensive I went to at the beginning of November. It’s not about making something pretty. It’s about offering space for your deeper self to create something meaningful.

This little creation cracked my creativity wide open. Journaling with this piece, it ‘told’ me that it represents the safety and nurturing that supports me as I give birth to some creative ’newness’.
The first time I experienced my mentor, Dr. Lucia Capacchione, facilitating this activity during my first training intensive in 2007, it changed my life. It is why Sublime Pottery exists. The most recent time I participated in this activity…well, I can already feel life shifting to support my new dreams. Leading this class last week for the community that Dr. Capacchione helped create is a meaningful example of this shift. And, through that, I was able to honor Lucia’s legacy in her recent passing.
I’ve been teaching expressive arts classes for 15 years and I am so excited to finally share this side of me with you 💖
